Ichimonji no Kata

  1. Uke receives the strike in Ichimonji no Kamae with Tori striking with Fudoken.
  2. Uke steps out to the side while using the whole body to open and block Tori’s strike with a circular motion.
  3. Uke follows up with Omote Shuto.

Omote Gyaku

  1. Tori starts in Shizen no Kamae. Uke attacks by grabbing the lapel (mirror grip).
  2. Tori grips the hand securing the grip on the same side while the other hand grips the lapel just under as they step back and applying pressure to the elbow with the forearm.
  3. Tori extends the arm securing tori straight up. The grip should be ensure the thumb is on the back of the hand.
  4. Tori brings the opposite hand up to meet Uke’s raised hand as he spirals around taking them to the ground.

Omote Gyaku Henka/ Omote Gyaku Tsuki

  1. Tori starts in Shizen no Kamae. Uke attacks by grabbing the left lapel (mirror grip), stepping in and punching with the right hand.
  2. Tori steps back with the right leg blocking Jodan Uke with the left arm.
  3. During the step Tori secures the grabbing wrist with the right hand before stepping beck with the left foot.
  4. Tori rotates the kote back in towards Uke stepping back in across the body with the left foot and spiralling the right leg out, taking the balance and forcing them to the floor.
